Can’t believe it, we are in St. Michael. We arrived on June 28, 2010

We were so blessed by the team from New Life Assembly in Kenai, Alaska. They brought a team of 16 and spent 3 1/2 days working in the parsonage as well as the church buildings. They cleaned, painted, leveled the floors and fixed the water heater! We now have HOT water. Amen! Thank You Kenai New Life.

Getting here was half the fun! We started preparations in January by buying extra dry goods and non-perishable food to ship the village. Thanks very much to the Alaska District of the Assemblies of God for their help in getting our stuff out here as well as the supplies to make necessary repairs.

I'd like to introduce you to Pastor Steve Brown of New Life Assembly of God, Kenai.

He writes a blog and has recorded some of his experiences with the team during their visit.

The barge arrived a few days after we did and as we went down to begin unloading it, we learned that our neighbor had caught two beluga whales in the bay that our kitchen window overlooks. Village life is an adventure every day!

Thanks to all who have helped and for all your prayers!

Here is an encouraging article from the Enrichment Journal. It was written by George O. Wood in a very transparent manner.

We are California natives turned Alaska Missionaries and we are extremely

excited about this new direction that God has given us! We arrived here in

the summer of 2007 and have been working closely with Native ministries

to learn more about the different cultures in this immense state and to get

to know  the people whom we serve. Linda and I have been involved in a

number of activities at Anchorage Native Assembly as well as assisting with

the Native American Fellowship.

This has given us the opportunity ot connect with people from many different

villages as they come in to visit the their relitives and make use of services in the

city. Our very strong desire is to move next into one of these villages where the

need for Spirit-filled evangelism is tremendous. So many up there

are bound by shamanism, idol worship, depression and despair. It’s time for

the love and power of God to be shown to His children in Alaska.
